Small hiccup at check in. Had to wait 15 min for my room to be ready even though I arrived 45 minutes after the 3:00 check in time. Was surprised to be charged a $50 fee “for incidentals” when no incidentals are offered? Was assured the fee would be returned in “5-10 days after my stay”. Note that the hotel was purchased in June by Trademark by Wyndham, and corporate was there in force, trying to get things right. This was the first time that the Firetender Restaurant was open (for us). It was a great little place with a variety of options available. Seemed pretty busy, but no complaints from the group, who had rooms in a variety of the buildings on the property. Room/Suite 700 (Building C) was like a small apartment. Full kitchen, seating for 10. Pleasantly surprised. There are some punch list items (broken window in the living room, no drapes in the bedroom to block the streetlights, bathroom ceiling needs to be repainted and towel shelf secured, weather stripping needed around exterior door to block weather and little visitors). Extra trash bags would have been nice, too. Had difficulty sleeping due to television noise coming from the room directly below the bedroom, which seemed to belong to a full time or extended stay resident. All in all, a good weekend and a great save for the group when our outdoor celebration at the Lost Colony Wine Festival became too chilly for comfort.

Looks just like the pictures. If your off put by the outside just know that it’s beautiful on the inside. Bed was soft and room was very clean. Front desk was nice. I was really stunned for the price it was inexpensive and better quality than any of the other places around! Loved our stay would definitely stay again.

I absolutely loved it at Hotel Manteo. Staff was so friendly, the rooms were outstanding, needed extra pillows easily retrieved from front desk, extremely secure as the outside doors are locked while your sleeping so no outsiders who shouldn’t be there could enter! We were in need of somewhere to go due to island being closed off and before our check in they let us take our children to the pool in the spare time, check in was not until 1 and they let us check in at 12! We stayed here back in May bc we were so anxious to get to Hatteras and we arrived a bit early! This cozy friendly hotel is nothing short of amazing! Thank you for all your kindness and help!

Our accommodations were very good. The bed was comfortable. The toilet, shower area was a bit confined. The idea of the lighted mirror is great, but did not consistently stay on. Could definitely use more outdoor lighting at night time. Parking lot is dark.

Ive stayed at this location tons of times over the years as a guest and also a live in under previous management as well as new management. I personally love the renovations. I wish the little cook tops came with a couple more dishes but its not the end of the world. (They seemed to have fixed this) They have a gigantic pool with a very interesting lay out plus it's salt water. I really like Kelly at the front desk bc she is helpful and I also had the pleasure of meeting Charlene the housekeeper. She was nice and helpful as always. I wasn't really thrilled with the third shift front desk agent at all.(Appears to be a different staff member and much nicer but i only heard her voice this time).. I also politely tried to tell her about the backdwimmers that had taken up residence in the Salt pool and she didn't even try to pretend to retain the information. The most recent management hire also seems to need a little training on what to expect regarding occupancy from shoulder season to prime season and back to shoulder season. Her first couple of weeks there she refused to allow me to extend ny reservation for 1 more weekend claiming the hotel had been sold out for the upcoming dates. It was flat out false. Perhaps she anticipated a sold out hotel due to an inaccurate prediction however at the point when it was clear it hadn't sold out and not even close she didn't correct the error. I was not paying a reduced amount and also was not on a do not rent list. It goes much better if you just say that it was a prediction rather than a fact. Thst would have made me a lot less offended. Ive stayed a couple more times since then but the rates are always higher than I feel they should be. Hopefully she will learn that playing fair with off season tenants can and will become your bread and butter during winter months so you should make it a point to show them the same respect you show a 4th of July guest. The renovations are only as nice as you're treated by staff and management. Considering the rate is the same as some ocean front accommodations I would provide stellar customer service at a minimum. Firetender is great though and yes they deliver. Update they seem to be making big progress with the latest front desk manager. Oct 2025 stay has been awesome and she has been very helpful. Room clean and beds amazing.

Check-in process was a breeze, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The AC worked great and the room was clean. The pool area is lovely, and I had the whole place to myself on the weekday evening I went. The bathroom is tight, but the room feels expansive. The sink and mirror are located outside the bathroom so there’s plenty of room to get ready. My stay would have been even better if I did not find hairs in the shower and in the towels.
